Sr. Technical Enterprise Architect

We are currently seeking a Sr. Technical Enterprise Architect to join our team in Ottawa, Ontario (CA-ON), Canada (CA).

In the role of a Sr. Technical Enterprise Architect, provides overall technology leadership, direction and guidance of an enterprise architecture.

 

Key Areas of Responsibility

 

  • Working with other stakeholders, lead the analysis, selection, and design of software and technology solutions to best satisfy business requirements.
  • Identify, develop, and refine technical and non-functional requirements for business architecture, information/data architecture, application architecture, and technical/infrastructure architecture.
  • Lead the design, prototyping and delivery of selected technical solutions.
  • Introduce innovative solutions that apply emerging and current technology.
  • Maintain the overall technical integrity of the solution throughout the project by defining architecture governance and oversight, architecture frameworks, documenting the architecture methodology, creating the implementation methodology, conducting an ongoing architecture solution review, and establishing the architecture repository and knowledge base.
  • Drive optimization and alignment of architectural design and development processes and coordinate enterprise architecture implementation and modification activities.
  • Develop, establish and enforce the Enterprise Architecture, including standards and guidelines for application & infrastructure solutions and technologies, integration methodologies and practices, development processes, hardware platforms, and enterprise data design.
  • Analyze the IT environment to detect critical deficiencies and recommend solutions for improvement.
  • Develop a road map of the evolution of the enterprise application portfolio from current to future state.
  • Facilitate the evaluation and selection of software product standards, as well as the design of standard software configurations.
  • Consult with application or infrastructure development projects to fit systems or infrastructure to architecture and identify when it is necessary to modify the solution architecture to accommodate project needs. 

 

 Professional Qualifications & Experience

  • 10 years’ experience as an IT Solution Architect overseeing and leading the design and implementations of large enterprise wide IT solutions.
  • Previous experience as an enterprise level Senior Enterprise Technical Solution Architect working on large scale projects within Government of Canada environments. (Preference for those with experience working on large systems implementation and transformation projects supporting social security programs).
  • Experience in the development of Technical and Business Requirements relating to application development, infrastructure and enterprise level system integrations.
  • Experience architecting cloud technologies, COTS system integration, and modernization of legacy systems.
  • Experience managing a technical team using an agile approach.
  • Experience working on large-scale, multi-vendor projects.
  • Strong communication skills with an ability to work with stakeholders of all levels including executives, architecture teams, developers and a range of other non-technical partners and clients.
  • Demonstrated experience in establishing excellent stakeholder relations
  • Demonstrated experience to define and deliver messages to business and technical audiences at various levels.
  • Expertise in the concepts of integration, functions, extensions, prototyping technical solutions and application deployments.
  • Extensive experience in systems analysis,design, software development and testing in large systems environments.
  • Demonstrated experience as a thought leader
  • Demonstrated experience in translating business objectives into system requirements and analyzing the impact of intended system features on the business
  • Flexible by nature, able to find a work-around when needed.
  • Proven track-record of successful IT project delivery to high-pressure clients.
